DG NITDA Commends Health Council
The Director General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM has commended the efforts of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in its aspiration in providing effective service delivery, hence digitalising its daily operations.
The DG made this known today while addressing Management of the Health body who paid a courtesy visit to the Agency’s Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.
The Health Council was at NITDA to establish a mutual relationship and identify possible areas of partnership in Information Communication Technology with the Agency.
Dr Pantami also assured the Council that NITDA will key into and render necessary support to at least further automate its processes and provide what is required for the Council to become fully IT compliant.

DG NITDA Mentors IT Startups
The Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM has urged IT Startups to channel time and resources in identifying and convincing people about products, services, and solutions needed by the society.
Dr Pantami made this known today during his Special Mentorship Session, part of activities of the ongoing Startup Clinic 2019, which was held at the Agency's Corporate Head Office, Abuja.
The DG also challenged the Startups to improve when people say no, and also urged them to always place passion above money, adding that, they should aspire to write their names in gold.
Pantami informed that the keys to being a Successful Startup include: ‘Determination, Patience, Strong and Effective Value, Ability to Identify the Market Needs and having a good Business Model’. He maintained that 90 per cent of IT Startups go into extinction before their first anniversary due to lack of patience, determination and carefully identifying the minimum value proposition of the products, and urged the young innovators to always develop a positive mindset for success.
Startup Clinic is a smart gathering that seeks to identify and proffer solutions to challenges faced by Startups in Nigeria, participants were drawn from all Geo-Political Zones of the Country, having successfully pitched their products and services during the Agency’s Startup Friday event held in Akwa Ibom, Abuja, Kano and Enugu respectively.
ICT Stakeholders Converge to Review Regulatory Instruments
In line with the rulemaking process of the Agency, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), today held a Stakeholders’ Engagement for the Review of draft on National Cloud Computing Policy; Electronic e-Commerce Regulation; Framework and Guidelines for ICT Adoption in Tertiary Institutions; and Framework for the Implementation of the Nigerian ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Vision (NIIEV). The gathering which was held at Barcelona Hotel, Abuja attracted participants from both the public and private sector cut across the Country. Breakout sessions were also held to narrow discussion and deliberation on each particular document, with feedback documented and communicated at the end of the day.
In his remarks, the Director General of NITDA, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM appreciated the gathering for honouring the invitation of the Agency and also the inputs made during the course of deliberation.
The DG reiterated the importance of engaging with Stakeholders in coming up with Regulatory Instruments aimed at moving Nigeria’s ICT Sector forward.

Automation of Asset Declaration Process is Possible – Dr Pantami
The Chief Information Technology Officer of Nigeria, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FNCS, FBCS, FIIM has called on the Management Staff of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to computerise the nations’s Asset Declaration Process in order to save time, resources, manpower, preserve the integrity of the information and bring about efficiency in service delivery.
Dr Pantami made this call today while making a presentation during the CCB Management Retreat ongoing in NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
While stressing on the the importance of digitising the process, Pantami said that maintaining it is possible and achievable,and by doing so, "you will leave a legacy in the Institution and Nigeria at large", he added.
The DG pledged the Agency’s willingness to support, advise, and supervise the process, stating that the implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA) by the Federal Government has saved over 20BN Monthly, and reduced the number of accounts from 2000 in the past to a single account today.
